Wendy Mogel Speaks at Blake School: Thursday, January 26th, author, Wendy Mogel will speak at 7:00 PM ath the Blake Upper School Campus. Wendy is the author of two books: The Blessing of a Skinned Knee and The Blessing of a B-. She has been a speaker at numerous national events and relays an abundance of common sense ideas for parents and teachers. This opportunity is free and open to the public.

Affinity Day for Lower School Math Teachers: The Amos and Celia Heilecher Minneapolis Jewish will host the annual affinity day sponsored by the TSC (Teacher Support Commiittee) group of MAIS. All teachers who teach math to elementary students are encouraged to attend to discover new ideas on how to make good use of the technology that they have in their own classrooms. The affinity day is scheduled for February 24th from 8:00-11:30 AM and is free to all who attend.

Groves Academy Hosts a Gap Year Fair: Sunday, January 29th, from 1:00-3:00 Groves Academy will host a gap year Fair. This fair is open to the public and is a great opportunity to discover what students can do for a year as an alternative to attending college immediately after graduation. 

Shattuck-St. Mary Sponsors a Workshop on New Directions For Assessment in the Classroom: On Friday, February 2nd Shattuck-St. Mary's School will host a workshop from 9:00 3:00. Bruce Hammond will offer a national view of the latest thinking in assessing students in the classroom and a roundtable discussion will follow where ideas and experiences can be shared. There is a $125.00 fee that is paid at the time of registration.
